U.A. Whitaker Biomedical Engineering Building
The Biomedical Engineering (BME) Building provides essential research and instructional facilities for the advancement of biomedical engineering and includes research space for Biomaterials, Biomolecular Engineering, Electrophysiology and Biomechanics. The building includes flexible research laboratories- with fixed benches, sinks, and wall shelving on the perimeter, and movable bench workstations with overhead service carriers in the center of the labs – along with educational and administrative facilities. Georgia Tech’s goals for having a highly expandable, convertible and versatile laboratory building were met through flexible laboratory modules; easily convertible for wet or dry research.
